Can Liverpool Win Barcelona Without Salah?

No one expected Liverpool to lose the way they lost to barcelona without even scoring a single goal at Camp Nou but the question still remains if they can overturn the 3-0 deficit after star man Mohamed salah have been ruled out of the second leg at Anfield.

It's been a good season for Liverpool who are after the Premier League title after suffering so many setbacks in recent years. Klopp knew resting his players against Newcastle might be disastrous with City taking on leicester on Monday, and one option he had was to go with full strength with his selection , a decision which backfired as talisman salah suffered a concussion late in the game.

Salah scored his 22nd Premier League goal of the season against the Magpies, helping Liverpool secure an eighth consecutive domestic victory but his injury is a big blow to the Anfield faithful.

Confirming the news on Monday morning at his press conference, Klopp said:
Salah cannot play tomorrow. He is better in his recovery, but he can not play tomorrow.
Precaution? No, it's a concussion, which means he is not allowed to play. He feels OK, but it is not good enough from a medical point of view.
It’s probably over before it has even started and even if salah is in the line up, one wouldn't be blamed to say Liverpool would still lose but don't doubt Klopp's men because they might s
shock us all.

The game is at Anfield, and it's their fortress with the effects of home crowd and support as well as the familiar ground. You know, the size of every football ground is not same, and Afield suits best for Liverpool.

Klopp has shown us very much intense games with the big guns in his timeline. He enjoys these types of games (So do supporters like me). Klopp has the artilleries to bring down Barcelona. The people leading the attack will certainly be changed with both Firmino and Salah ruled out. Hopefully, Shaqiri starts in right and Oxlade has a Cameo in the game. On his day, Mane can be a handful, with Fabinho holding the midfield and Henderson and Milner spreading ahead as well with the support down both the flanks and the formidable defense in the back.

Barcelona are already in a state of fear and becoming too much cautious, with the experiences from previous setbacks. We can see that from the team selection in last league game against Celta Vigo of which they lost 2-0 on saturday.

Hope is everything and that's the spirit we live for and Klopp wants everybody to have it. The game isn’t finished and Liverpool still have 90+ minutes to play. I have seen Liverpool come back from 3 goal deficit previously within 45 minutes and Barcelona themselves have come back from 4 goal deficit to progress the next round in previous seasons. Anything is possible and Liverpool can beat any team on their day.

On the other hand, Barcelona have learnt their lesson as was shown last season in Rome. They trashed Roma 4-1 at Camp Nou But they crashed out at Italy with Roma winning them 3-0.

Speaking at his press conference today, Barcelona coach Ernesto Vervalde warned his players about making the same mistake they made at Rome last season.
It's an experience to learn from, but the good thing about football is you always get another chance," Valverde told reporters when asked about the Roma game.
Nothing in football is written, you have to go out there and do it. PSG [in the last 16 in 2017] - people said if they scored it was over but we went out there and scored six.
Looking at this full press conference and all the tickets that have been sold, I don't think there is any danger of that [complacency] happening. But Liverpool are a good team, so who knows what could happen.
Let's wait and see what happens tomorrow, Jurgen Klopp will still think he can win the double of Champions League and Premier League.
Liverpool are not only 3-0 down, but without strike duo Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah due to injury.

Knocking out Liverpool would see Barca take another step towards winning a treble, with Valverde's side already La Liga champions and through to a Copa del Rey final with Valencia and the coach insists he will be taking nothing for granted despite his side's strong position in the tie.
We need to ignore the first leg, it would be an error to think that would help us. We're playing at Anfield in front of a very difficult crowd because of the passion and the atmosphere they generate.
It would be a mistake to think we just need to control the game. Control is no use unless you can also attack and this is why sometimes we have to change our style.
There are different players in the team now and perhaps teams have got wise to the way we play. So sometimes instead of just passing the ball we have to get the ball forward quicker.
We've played at big stadiums like San Siro and Old Trafford and done well this season, I think we can cope with the pressure.
Your most important game is always the next one. The Champions League is always important but if you ask me if this is my most important game at Barcelona, then maybe it is.
Strength in their team with the likes of Messi, probably the best player in the world makes them a big favorite in this Anfield encounter. Away goal cushion always dragged down Barcelona, which is not the case this time.

Liverpool are victim of their own success and the team are in a total roller-coaster ride since I followed them, they have a huge task to live up to the expectations of people. They are chasing a league title this season, which is not even in their hands now and depends on the results of City. They didn’t rest their players much and weariness is seen from injuries they are retaining whereas Barcelona rested their full squad last weekend to show they are taking this game as serious as ever.

To add to the injury, Liverpool are prone to the mistakes and that could lead to Barcelona adding on to the goal margin they have as they are the last club to make mistakes against right now. Whatever the result, I am going to enjoy the match as it unfolds and cheer for the better side as always in dark and in light. Hopefully Liverpool get some luck and win the double this season.

You’ll Never Walk Alone.
