Kidnappers Abducts Samuel Kalu's Mother, Demands 50M Naira

Nigeria player Samuel Kalu's mother have been kidnapped with the abductors demanding 50M Naira to release her.

This is Nigeria: a song written by Falz d' Bahd guy which was banned immediately by the country because every lyrics in the song contains the truth. A country where the citizens cannot even be appreciative for a player doing everything to make them proud.

Kidnapping Kalu's mother is another blow for the country's image and I wonder what must be in the mind of other players who wants to represent this country.

After abducting Kalu's mother on February 27 at Umuamacha Umueze in Abia State, they initially demanded N3m for the release of his mother but
they backtracked immediately after he has made the payment. Sensing he has enough, they have now demanded a whopping 50 M extra.

A tearful and worried Kalu after hearing of the situation expressed his worry about the safety of his mother after the kidnappers demanded the N50m ransom for her release and he told Today.ng:

“Please help me beg them to release my mother because my ambition is to do everything within my powers to help the Super Eagles win the forthcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

“My mother was kidnapped on Wednesday, 27th of February, when she was going back home. The kidnappers asked for a ransom of N3m the first time, which was given to them and they assured us that they would release her.

“We waited the whole night, we did not see her. The next morning, they called again that they wanted more money; that the money (earlier paid) was given to another person. Now they are asking for a ransom of N15m.

“The police is aware. The Commissioner of Police in Abia State knows about it too,” Kalu added in a telephone interview from France.

Kalu was named by coach Gernot Rohr in Nigeria’s squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture on Monday against Seychelles and the friendly clash against the Pharaohs of Egypt later this month.

His club Bordeaux will take on Mot is not known Montpellier on Tuesday in their Ligue 1 encounter but it's yet to be seen if he will feature in that encounter.

The 21-year-old Kalu, who made his Eagles debut last September would be hoping to resolve this issue as soon as possible though we can't neglect the fact that this is scary.

Kidnapping and terrorism for sure is one attribute to describe Nigeria. Besides this has not been the first time a players relative have been kidnapped.

In 2012, former Nigeria and Udinese midfielder Christian Obodo was taken by kidnappers on his way to church at Efurun Delta State but he he was luckily released a day later around Isoko.

Lobi star forward Sunday Akleche was also kidnapped along with his wife last year October 2018 in Abia State as they were going to Port Harcourt. A rassom of 50M Naira which was negotiable was placed on their head before they were released.

Another was Nigeria captain John On Mike's father before the World Cup. It should be noted that this was not the first time Mr. Obi had been kidnapped but the fact that the former Chelsea man was representing his country at the World Cup with his father held captive showed the bad side of the country. It was to worrying because the player who is doing everything to give his country glory I being paid bad.

The abduction of his dad was before the Argentina game with a random of 21M Naira placed on his head.

Provided that this issue is not solved, Nigeria will keep on missing out on their players because no one would like to represent the country that don't value the work of humanity.

Just like Mikel and the rest of the players whom their relatives have suffered abduction, Kalu would hope that this would just be the last of it.
