Reasons Why Manchester United Will Win PSG

Manchester United will take on PSG on Tuesday at Old Trafford in an eye catching Champions League and the Red Devils should be optimistic going into the encounter.

When United were paired against the Ligue 1 champions, many concluded that their exit is a matter of time. Fast forward to some months later and the die had been turned with PSG even scared for themselves. Not that they can't match this United side filled with Young blood but because of the way this team are playing; it's no more a Mourinho's United suffering loss after loss.

Tasked with revitalizing the team following the sack of Jose Mourinho, Solskjaer has done beyond expectation and has driven the Red Devils back into the top four after Saturday's win against relegation strugglers Fulham.

The Norwegian manager have won all the matches he has taken except the draw against Burnley but their season have clicked back and the players have rejuvenated. Martial who was about to be sold by Jose Mourinho have irked a new deal and his performance have made many wondered what went wrong between the pair.

Pogba have achieved a record of his best ever career as he is now 11 goals in a single season. The player have been showing power and leadership under the new boss and that also goes to other players like Lindelof and Luke Shaw.

With all this in mind, Goalcliq reveals reason why United can down PSG.

1: United already have a Midfield edge.

If there is one area United have super their opponents this season, then it's from the Midfield and with PSG lacking midfielders matched with United, one could agree the battle has already been won.

Matic and Herrera have been playing at a level above usual under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for Manchester United. Whether they feature in a three-man midfield or as a double-pivot in a 4-2-3-1 formation, the pair have been crucial to United’s sensational run under the Norwegian.

The Red Devils are now able to control the game from the midfield, dictate the tempo and put on a convincing show. The rejuvenated midfield has been one of the key upgrades from the first half of the season, although the team-sheet reads the same names.

In the department of attacking midfield, PSG have fielded the likes of Julian Draxler and Angel di Maria. These players are more accustomed to playing a wide role. As interiors, they might not be as effective as they can be on the wings. Also, both the players aren’t as equipped to carry out the creative burden in Neymar’s absence.

Whereas, Paul Pogba – without the shackles of defensive responsibility – has displayed flashes of his Juventus days and World Cup form. On his day, the Frenchman can play like he’s the best number eight in the world and Solskjaer is slowly bringing out that side of him.

Pogba has been instrumental in United's improved run, his two goals against Fulham taking his tally to 11 in the Premier League this term, a personal best in a single season in top-flight football.

PSG winger Draxler even talked about the threat he posed in their nees conference and that tells us all how dangerous he is.
They have got some great players at Man United, especially in midfield, with Pogba and [Nemanja] Matic. They will be key in the game.
But we've got a lot of quality, too. Our players are more than capable. We stopped Paul sometimes in games between Germany and France.
We'll see what he does. He can do everything, but we've got players capable of stopping Paul.
While it seems like United could emerge victorious in the midfield battle, one also needs to consider the scheduling complications but this PSG game is important and might define their season.

PSG coach after the Bordeaux game said his team will 'analyse United' and that is also a testament to their form. With Paul pulling the strings and Matic with Herrera control the engine room, the game will for sure come in United's way.

2: PSG injury crisis have given United a huge boost.

When it was announced that the French sides would be taking a United side managed by Jose Mourinho, there were joy at Paris with Neymar even relishing the chance to destroy United. Months later and he is injured and then followed by Cavani and Verratti.

That injury has caused fear with Tuchel knowing that he is facing a side that has not lost a single Premier League since another manager [ Solskjaer] took charge. Speaking after the Cavani injuries, Tuchel said:
There are lots of plan Bs now. Without Ney [Neymar], maybe without Marco, maybe without Edi [Cavani], now we need a plan D.
I can't think about so many different plans in advance. We have to analyse Manchester United, we have to stay calm and confident.
Normally, my opinion is definitely clear: for a game against Manchester United, for a game against Liverpool or even against Red Star Belgrade, you need your key players with confidence, experience, quality, who are used to playing that kind of game, are used to playing big games full of pressure, who are used to managing the pressure.
But, if two or three key players are not here, it's our duty to find solutions. It's very difficult if we play with our best team, it's a big challenge. If we are missing lots of key players, it's an even bigger challenge, but we will be ready on Tuesday, I think.
This injury is a very big advantage to United and if they can take their chance against tge likes of Di Maria and Mbappe, then they would have the chance to take all three points.

3: Old Trafford is an advantage.

When Solskjaer was installed as the interim boss, he talked up about making Old Trafford a fortress and that's what he's done. Forget the 2-2 draw gambling with Burnley.

PSG for now would be coming from a draw but United can't make such mistake and we know what our frontline are capable of.

PSG are no more favourites and if United can win at home, then Solskjaer can be a genius in terms of tactics and Mastermind when they visit Paris.

United have the luxury, the fans and the crowd to support them. Everything is pointing good at the moment for United and if they can take their Chan at home, then they have the maximum chance to progress.

Tuesday's game will see a familiar figure Angel Di Maria face his old club for the first time in a competitive match since he left for PSG for a reported £44million in 2015.

United will be hoping to come out victorious in this encounter and for them to do that, that have to be fearless and play their game.
